Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Cockerham
Hi Lindsey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As my oldest son started to approach kindergarten age, I began researching options for his education. I found myself being very drawn to the homeschool route. We joined a co-op to test the waters and I decided to commit to the homeschool journey. I don’t have nearby family, so I really wanted to be sure that we had the support to make homeschooling successful. I started looking for enrichment programs in our area and wasn’t quite finding what I was looking for. This inspired me to create my own enrichment program in Plano.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This is my first experience starting a brick and mortar business. I wasn’t familiar with the process of acquiring commercial real estate, so that was an interesting adventure. It took more time than anticipated to secure our building, but we are so excited about our location and can’t wait to serve families in Plano and surrounding areas.
As you know, we’re big fans of HeartSync Homeschool Hub . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
HeartSync Homeschool Hub is a drop-off optional. secular based, enrichment program for children ages 4-12. We offer 1 and 2 day program options on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30-2:30pm. We provide flexible payment and enrollment options to fit your family’s unique needs. Children are taught by qualified teachers and engage in subjects such as: Creative Writing, STEM Lab, Art, Social and Emotional Learning, and Home Economics. We are here to be an additional support during your homeschool journey.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Spending time with family and friends, creating nail art, a good podcast, or a good book. I’m a good mix of extrovert and introvert, so I need to fill my social battery, but I also enjoy recharging by myself.
