Community Highlights: Meet Linh Vuong of Blush

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linh Vuong

Hi Linh, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in the industry for over 15 years. I started as a nail tech and didn’t like the way nail salons operated. In 2015, I decided to open my very first salon, called Gloss Nail Bar located in Plano, TX. Early of 2018, I made the difficult decision to sell Gloss to focus on my family and have my second child.

After a few years of spending time with my family, I felt ready to start a new concept. I decided to venture off with my sister who is a massage therapist and esthetician in 2019. Thus, creating our Covid baby, Blush.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not! There were many obstacles that we faced from the beginning.

There were issues with construction and remodeling, everything kept getting delayed. Our opening date was mid October, but construction wasn’t finished until late February. After passing the deadline several times, we finally opened in March 2020, only to close a week after opening, due to Covid.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Blush is a boutique specializing in lash and nail services located in Canyon Creek, Richardson. We’ve recently expanded our services to include spa treatments like massage and the viral head spa!

Our team is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and comfort, ensuring that every visit leaves you feeling not just beautiful, but truly cared for. Our goal is to create a memorable experience every time you walk through our doors!

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
We’ve learned that the relationships we’ve built with our clients matter most. Being a new salon in the community didn’t give us a lot of credibility and people were hesitant to give us a chance. By being open, transparent, and understanding, we were able to reassure our clients and create a sense of comfort and trust. It was a reminder that people don’t just come to us for services, they come for care and connection. And we’re so grateful for the opportunity to provide that.
