Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Tautfest.
Hi Maggie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Tautfest Weddings in August 2023. I started planning weddings shortly after graduating with my Bachelor’s in Hospitality and Tourism Management with an emphasis in Event Planning. I loved helping plan events for my university, and I wanted to continue with that, but on a smaller scale. I love being able to help with others memories, while making sure everything runs smoothy. Since starting my business, I have planned and am planning 22 weddings!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been pretty smooth, as all of my clients and their friends and family are amazing to work with! That. being said, there has definitely been some learning curves. For example, each wedding and each client is so different so starting off, I had to learn very quickly that each wedding is special and unique in its’ own way! There’s no one size fits all when it comes to wedding plans and what will happen at each wedding. I had to learn to be quick on my feet, and be ready for anything that could come my way!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is best known for working closely with my clients and their family and friends, and being the number 1 contact for any sort of wedding related emergency. I pride myself and my business in being the most reliable contact for my brides and grooms, and being there for whatever they need, Something that sets my business apart from the other planners is no matter what, my clients can count on me to be there for them. Whether it be figuring out vendors and timeline, or just being there for them to vent and cool off if they are feeling stressed. I’m there for it all!
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by measuring how happy the bride and groom are at the end of the evening of their wedding. Everything could go wrong with the vendors and with the wedding timeline, but as long as I am able to pull it all together without the bride and groom knowing there was anything wrong in the first place, then I would say it was a 100% success!
