Hi Mercedes, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Next Chapter Counseling started as a dream, a hope to provide excellent service while honoring commitments to myself and my family. What began as a one clinician practice, has grown into multiple offices with several amazing clinicians treating clients from all across the metroplex and surrounding areas.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I began the practice while having a newborn and navigating the challenges of handling my grandmother’s estate shortly after she died. Also, the COVID pandemic was quite the undertaking. We sheltered in place until it was deemed safe enough to provide some in-person care with precautions.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Next Chapter Counseling, PLLC?
Not only do we provide excellent client care, we also have created an atmosphere where clinicians can grow their skills through a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. We a developing specialities in our clinicians that include, but is not limited to: grief and trauma, couples and relationship issues, children and adolescent challenges, life transitions, addiction, ADHD in adults and children, and parent training.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The need for accessible mental health treatment will only continue to grow, and we are here to meet that need. We provide in-person and virtual sessions to accommodate clients’ needs.
