

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Abraham.
Hi Nick, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been an entrepreneur – have started multiple businesses in middle/high school (used to sell custom Nike elite socks in middle school and ran pretty large basketball tournaments in high school with a wide variety of other things)
I started my first agency m cdy freshmen year in college – did what I was taught in school. Set up the LLC, make business cards, and tell your family and friends.
Guess what happened next? Zero customers and a brutal awakening that everything I was learning in “business school” was outdated and literally not useful to bootstrap small businesses.
A lot of the advice was terrible but I had to figure out how to get clients – this led me to learn how to do outbound sales which ended up becoming a passion and a lethal skill that I became great at.
Started offering this as a service through my agency, Leadbird. We have a small team of 12 and serve over 50+ clients. While running the agency, I was using a lot of different sales tech which I used to service my client – I wasn’t a fan of certain features and the lack of others so I ended up building my own software (getemy.io, scrubby.io, inboxy.io, quicklines.ai) Through the software companies, we serve over 8000+ customers.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Never has been a smooth road – especially with the agency.
We rebuilt our offer, process, and systems over 4 times in the last 2 years to find a more scaleable model that had product market fit.
Basically, restarting the company every single time.
Going from an agency to SaaS is extremely difficult – working with developers and managing them is extremely hard especially if you don’t have a tech background.
