Community Highlights: Meet Nikki Jackson of Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women Nonprofit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Jackson

Hi Nikki, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
grew up in Minnesota, facing my share of challenges that taught me the value of resilience and self-belief. In search of new opportunities, I moved to Arlington, Texas in 2016. There, I witnessed firsthand how limited resources and systemic barriers affected underserved communities, especially women and youth. This experience ignited a passion in me to create lasting change.

Motivated by a desire to empower others, I became a certified life coach, determined to help individuals overcome obstacles and achieve their potential. In 2021, I founded Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing critical issues like mental health, financial literacy, and trauma recovery. My goal was simple: to create programs that not only educate but also inspire confidence and resilience in those who need it most.

Along the way, I’ve embraced every lesson, learned the power of community and collaboration, and celebrated milestones like receiving community impact awards in 2024. Today, I continue to lead with a commitment to service, always striving to uplift others and transform adversity into opportunity. My journey is a testament to the belief that with determination and support, every challenge can pave the way to a brighter future.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Early on, moving from Minnesota to Arlington, Texas, I faced the challenge of building a new support network in an unfamiliar environment. Balancing the responsibilities of being a single mother to two children while establishing a nonprofit meant that every day brought its own set of struggles. Financial constraints and limited resources often made it difficult to secure funding and maintain momentum for our programs. Additionally, navigating systemic barriers and confronting racial biases in leadership spaces added another layer of complexity. There were moments of self-doubt and setbacks where it felt like the odds were stacked against me. However, each of these challenges has been a crucial part of my growth. They taught me the value of resilience, creative problem-solving, and the importance of community support. Ultimately, these obstacles have strengthened my resolve and fueled my passion to empower underserved communities, transforming adversity into opportunities for lasting change.
