Today we’d like to introduce you to Raamis Hirani.
Hi Raamis, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma, originally planning to go into medicine. After taking a career test, I discovered dentistry was my top match, and it turned out to be exactly where I was meant to be.
After graduating, I earned my DDS from Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas (formerly Baylor College of Dentistry), where I realized how much I love helping people feel confident in their smiles. During dental school, I developed a passion for orthodontics and continued my training at Saint Louis University, the first orthodontic residency program in the U.S.
After a few years of practicing as an associate, my wife and I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and bring our own vision to life. That’s how RH Orthodontics was born — built on the idea that creating smiles should feel personal, comfortable, and fun for every patient who walks through our doors.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. Finding the right location was one of the biggest challenges. With Dallas growing so quickly, there weren’t many ideal spaces available. After reviewing a few demographic studies, we realized that The Colony was the perfect community to plant roots and build RH Orthodontics.
Once we signed the lease, the buildout process took longer than expected, which came with its own set of challenges. During that time, we were also focused on building our team, creating systems, and preparing to open our doors, all while finding ways to introduce ourselves to the community. From assembling the right team to earning the trust of new patients, every step has been a learning experience.
My wife, Kiran, has led the marketing efforts — everything from school partnerships and digital campaigns to community events — and it’s truly been a labor of love. Looking back, we’re so proud of how far we’ve come and the community we’ve built around RH Orthodontics.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
RH Orthodontics is a family-owned orthodontic practice in The Colony, TX, built on one simple belief: a confident smile can truly change everything. We take pride in creating a welcoming space where kids, teens, and adults feel right at home.
We specialize in braces and clear aligner treatments that are simple, comfortable, and personalized to each patient’s lifestyle. Our modern office blends warmth and innovation, using the latest technology to make every visit easier and more efficient. We also believe that great orthodontic care should be both affordable and accessible, offering flexible financing and individualized plans to fit every family’s needs.
What sets us apart most is the family feel you notice the moment you walk through our doors. Every smile matters to us, and we’re proud to have built a practice that’s approachable, community-driven, and truly dedicated to helping people love their smiles.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a big fan of the How I Built This podcast. It’s always inspiring to hear how successful entrepreneurs built their businesses and navigated challenges along the way. I’m also part of an orthodontic study group, which has been an amazing way to learn from peers in the field — we really do succeed together!
Continuing education is a big focus for me as well. I regularly take courses and attend conferences to stay on top of the latest advancements in orthodontics and provide the best possible care for my patients.
Outside of work, I love keeping up with technology — whether it’s new tech releases, electric cars, or the latest gadgets, I’m always curious about what’s next. And of course, watching sports is my go-to way to unwind. I’m a big fan of the OKC Thunder, OU Sooners, and Philadelphia Eagles (I’m sorry, Dallas!).
