Community Highlights: Meet Rawles Bell of Beacon Pointe Advisors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rawles Bell.

Hi Rawles, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Dallas, and I’ve always had a strong connection to this community. I went on to attend Texas A&M University, where I majored in Finance and minored in Economics. During my time there, I interned with both RBC Wealth Management and UBS, which really sparked my passion for the wealth management industry.

After graduating in 2011, I began my career at RBC Wealth Management. A few years later, I had the opportunity to team up with my current partner, Wayne McCullough, to build an RIA within Benchmark Bank. We spent nine years growing that business, and in 2022, we joined Beacon Pointe Advisors. I now serve as a Partner and Managing Director in our Highland Park office.

Outside of work, I’m very involved in the community. I’m active with the Touchdown Club of Dallas, which raises money for the Rise School—a special needs school in Highland Park. I also serve at Watermark Community Church on the Great Questions Team, where we help people explore their faith through open, respectful dialogue.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s rarely a smooth road, especially when you’re building something from the ground up. Starting any business requires a lot of grit and persistence. There were plenty of long days and tough lessons early on in my career. I had to hit my head against a few walls, make mistakes, and keep learning in order to really hone my craft. Looking back, I wouldn’t necessarily want to relive those early challenges, but I’m grateful for them. They taught me how to grow, how to learn from failure, and how to embrace humility—things you can’t pick up from a textbook.

Beyond the business-building side, working in financial markets for over a decade means going through your fair share of volatility and crisis. In my 13 years as an advisor, we’ve helped clients navigate through several market disruptions. Those difficult periods are when our role becomes even more important—being a calm, steady voice that helps clients make rational, sometimes even opportunistic decisions amid the chaos. That’s when we really earn their trust.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up in a big family, so I was always surrounded by people and activity—which really shaped who I am. I’ve always been drawn to connection and community, and from a young age, I loved being around others and building friendships. I was also incredibly active and into just about every sport you can think of. Eventually, I focused most of my energy on football and wrestling, which taught me a lot about discipline and teamwork.

Outside of sports, I’ve always had a love for the outdoors and staying active in general. Music has been a consistent hobby and creative outlet over the years, and I’ve also developed a real appreciation for fishing and golf—both great ways to unwind and connect with others. Overall, I’d say I was an energetic, people-oriented kid with a wide range of interests and a strong competitive spirit.
