Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Royal-Waggoner
Hi Rebecca, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
– At the age of 5 I wanted to be a nurse.
– 18 started out as CNA.
– Age 20 became a medical assistant. Started working on my nursing pre-requisites.
– Had first child age 23. Continued to work on nursing school pre-req’s. Applied to nursing school 4 times before
getting accepted. By this time had 2 more children, and divorced and youngest child was 6 months old when I
started RN school.
– Graduated with BSN-RN in 2009. Started first job in 2010 at local hospital.
– 2 weeks after graduating, applied to one NP school, decided that if I got in, I was going, and I was accepted.
– Graduated with MSN in 2015 and started my first job as an NP in neurosurgery.
– Went back to school and finished my doctorate in 2017, recruited by cardiology and made change in 2019.
– Covid hit, my 14 year old daughter gave me permission to move, sold my house in Olympia, WA, before
knowing where I was going.
– Took a job in Dallas, so my 14 year old daughter and I moved to Dallas TX in 2020.
– Started working on my own health as I had never made me a priority, and started working with a trainer.
2022/2023 competed in 3 Hyrox competitions, placing 2nd in my age group. At the age of 50 began competing
in NPC bodybuilding shows, as bikini competitor. Again placing 2nd in my age divisions, and qualified for
masters nationals 2024. Unfortunately I broke my foot in January 2024 and had to delay competing while
recovering.
– Clearly recognize the correlation between lifestyle, nutrition, and risk for chronic disease as well as quality of
life throughout one’s lifespan.
– Friends/family reaching out to me for advice.
– I began telling my patients my story and the cardiologists I were working with at the time, began asking me
what I was doing because patients were losing weight. (this was before GLP1s). My co-workers also started
loosing weight.
– I began to realize I could help so many more people if I could educate and encourage the importance of
lifestyle at an early age.
– I quit my job in Dallas 2 x due to work demands. I loved Dallas and new I wanted to stay and I did not want to
move back to WA, continued to work per diem at a hospital in Seattle while living in Dallas and figuring out my
next move.
– Sold my home in Dallas 12/2023, and started working as independent contractor and locum job, and
eventually found Liquivida.
– Almost 2 years after starting entrepreneurship journey, and many struggles, Liquivida – Dallas opened Oct 7,
2024.
