Today we’d like to introduce you to Rick A. Pena
Hi Rick A. , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After my mother won custody, I relocated to the big D from Del Rio, Tx. Here, in the streets of East Dallas is where my new life began. Growing up in East Dallas/Pleasant Grove wasn’t easy. My first love was the sport of boxing and thought boxing was my ticket out. Golden gloves champ, Games of Texas Gold medalist. However, God had other plans.
At a young age my father gave me my first job at the premier club. At this fitness center is where I would play basketball with Mark Cuban, Tony Romo, and is where I met my mentor and good friend, Fleetwood.
I didn’t know God would use Fleetwood to help me start my first company “Rich Rags Clothing”. After asking God for confirmation, God opened the doors for us through this clothing brand and acquired our first taste of success. We began shipping out orders from coast to coast.
However, my heart has always been in real estate investing. After having a few good runs with Rich Rags Clothing. com , God decided to take us in a whole new direction, which was real estate investing. I didn’t know how I would do this, all I knew was that God had given me a vision and it was up to me to fulfill it.
Here we are now, we’ve flipped multiple properties and have purchased our first of many rentals. Major shout out to my lovely wife, Jessica and son’s, Rick & Aleck. I wouldn’t have the fire to keep going without God and family.
The scripture says that if we have faith as small as a grain of mustard seed and you tell a mountain to move from here to there, it will obey you. Nothing will be impossible for you – Matthew 17:20
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Lol, smooth? Not at all. Wish it was a walk in the park. I had to fight everyday. Some of the struggles were as simple as just believing it was going to happen even when you didn’t see any signs of life. I had to go through a whole bunch of No’s which were heartbreaking. Another struggle was just trying to get people to see your vision. The sad part no one did, until they saw me fulfilling non stop online orders, until they saw me cashing in those nice real estate checks, lol. When going through tough times in business or life, I always think of one of my hardest battles in the ring. During a gold glove fight, my opponent knocked me down late in the round. It was a flash knockdown. I didn’t realize it, but I ended up with my gloves on the canvas, the crowd went wild!!! I got up, the refs in my face yelling, giving me an 8 count. At this point I’m supplicating with the ref for him to let me go back out and finish the fight on my feet. He allowed me. As soon as he gives me the green light, I blazed out of that corner, and knocked my opponent out to win the fight that night!!!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in buying real estate for cash. We help families in distressed situations. We buy house’s for cash and close fast in as-is condition. For every house that we sell, we tithe 10% of all of our profits to help the community here in Pleasant Grove. Some of the centers we tithe to are the Inspired Vision Compassion Center here in Pleasant Grove. What we are most proud of is fulfilling our calling, giving back to the community, tithing 10% of our profits. If you know of anyone needing to sell , we pay up to 1k referrals. Major shout out to Inspired vision & Centro church .
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Growing up in Del Rio Tx with my family. My grandparents would travel a lot and they’d take me with them as a kid. One of the places I remember is California. I can’t wait to visit again.
