Community Highlights: Meet Robin McCoy of Relax, I Got This!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robin McCoy.

Hi Robin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a Texas Realtor since 2008. Funny thing, over the years, as I got older, so did my friends, clients, and their parents.

Then in 2023, my mother’s health declined rapidly, and suddenly I was thrown into a world I thought I understood but didn’t. Where was she going to live? What was I supposed to do with all her stuff? And why wouldn’t her Medicare plan ever answer the phone?

The truth is, even with friends in the senior industry—people who own home health companies, senior living communities, even a CEO of her Medicare plan—I still felt completely lost.

Once Mom was finally settled, I had a big realization. If I was confused, and I had resources, how must other adult children feel? And what about the seniors who don’t have a “me” to help them navigate it all?

That’s when I decided to focus my real estate and coaching business on helping the aging population in our community. I guide families through downsizing, move management, and aging in place. My mission is to be that trusted resource so no one has to face these transitions feeling as overwhelmed as I once did.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest struggles has been overcoming the “Realtor label.” The minute people hear that word, they assume I just want to list their home and make a sale. And sure, that’s how I make a living. But that’s not my only goal, not by a long shot.

What drives me is helping people live safely and comfortably wherever they choose, for as long as they choose. Sometimes that means selling a home, but other times it means helping them modify the one they already have, connect with trusted resources, or just make a plan for the future.

It’s taken time for people to understand that I’m not here to push a sale. I’m here to be a guide. I want families and seniors to feel empowered, informed, and supported no matter what their next chapter looks like.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Relax, I Got This! started out as a simple real estate tagline, a way to reassure my clients that I had things handled. Over time, it’s grown into so much more. Today, it’s a brand, a podcast, a keynote, and the name of my Senior Services division.

The phrase really captures what I want people to feel when they work with me: that sense of calm when you know someone’s got your back. My role is to have the answers to the questions you know to ask and the ones you don’t.

Whether it’s selling your home, liquidating assets, or figuring out what comes next, my goal is to ease the stress and be that one-stop resource for seniors and their families. If I can’t personally provide the service, I have trusted referral partners who can, both locally and across the country. I’m in daily masterminds with agents and senior-focused professionals nationwide and even internationally, so no matter where you are or what challenge you’re facing, I can connect you with the right help.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that usually surprises people is that I walked the Camino de Santiago, pilgrimage across Spain. It was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life and taught me more about patience, trust, and following the signs than just about anything else.

People are also surprised to learn I’ve lived in seven different states and even did a stint in college radio. I guess I’ve always been curious and open to new experiences. Looking back, all those moves, conversations, and adventures helped shape the way I connect with people today — whether it’s across a microphone, a closing table, or a senior’s living room.
