Today we’d like to introduce you to Rojina Thapa.
Hi Rojina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
“I’ve always been passionate about the beauty industry because it allows you to share confidence, positivity, and transformation with people. But when COVID hit, I had to pivot. Direct customer interaction became risky, so I shifted to remote work, completed my Master’s in Data Analytics, and eventually built a career as a project manager.
Although the salary was better, I missed the human connection I had in the beauty field. Even when it paid less, it fulfilled me more. With the support of my husband, we used our savings to invest in our first business. From there, I continued to save and reinvest, which allowed me to expand into a second business in clothing and jewelry, and eventually a third venture.
Today, I’m back to my roots in the beauty industry—training estheticians and guiding women who feel unsure about their career path. I was once in that same position, and helping women find clarity and confidence is what motivates me every day.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
“It definitely wasn’t a smooth road. Just when I was doing really well in the beauty industry — promoting myself, building connections, and growing my client base — my husband received an army posting in New York. Moving from Texas to New York was a huge adjustment. I’m a summer person, so everything from the weather to the pace felt completely different, and it took a toll on me.
Then COVID hit, and I had to leave the beauty field to stay safe with my husband. That decision was emotionally difficult, because it meant stepping away from something I loved. During that time, I pushed myself into the tech world. I kept telling myself to ‘fake it till I make it,’ convincing myself I was someone who enjoyed tech because stability was important.
I worked long hours — even Saturdays — while my family waited for weekend plans I often couldn’t make. It felt like I was living a life that didn’t align with who I truly was. The struggle wasn’t just about career changes; it was about identity, confidence, and learning to rebuild myself in a completely new environment.”
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about 1) Newrain Threading Salon 2) Siarra’s Boutique Collection?
I run a beauty studio with a talented group of estheticians where we focus on enhancing natural beauty through brow shaping, waxing, facials, and lash services. What sets us apart is the level of care, education, and personalization we offer. We don’t just provide services — we guide our clients, help them understand what works for them, and make sure they leave feeling confident and cared for.”
“Alongside the beauty studio, I also run a clothing and jewelry business specializing in traditional South Asian attire. We offer customized tailoring so every piece fits each customer beautifully. From kids to adults, we provide clothing for weddings, cultural events, and traditional ceremonies. Our store is a true one-stop destination — from outfits and jewelry to décor — making it easier for families to find everything they need in one place.”
“What I’m most proud of is how both sides of my business come together with one purpose: celebrating beauty, confidence, and culture. Whether it’s through a perfectly shaped brow or a custom-fitted lehenga, our mission is to help women feel their best. I want readers to know that our brand is built on authenticity, warmth, and a genuine desire to make every woman feel seen and valued.”
If you want, I can make it more concise, more marketing-focused, or more storytelling-driven.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is growth — not staying stagnant and always being willing to learn. Continuous learning keeps me passionate, motivated, and confident, both in life and in business. In an industry that evolves so quickly, staying curious and open to new skills helps me stay competitive and provide the best for my clients and my team.
But beyond business, learning is a form of self-love for me. When you invest in yourself, you naturally have more to give to the people around you. Nourishing your own growth allows you to nurture others — whether it’s my clients, my team, or the women I guide. That mindset of evolving, improving, and staying inspired is what keeps me grounded and moving forward.”
