Community Highlights: Meet Roshale Thompson of Divalicious Delights Bakery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roshale Thompson.

Roshale Thompson

Hi Roshale, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is somewhat unique because desserts and art are my faves. I absolutely love baking from scratch as it speaks to my soul. I baked alongside of my mom as a child; however, I learned later in life how to decorate cakes and sweets because I didn’t like the taste of store-bought desserts. When people tried my cakes and sweets, they started asking me to bake for their events, and it’s all history from there. I have always enjoyed drawing and sculpting, so I use these skills to design cakes and make edible figurines for cakes. I truly have the best of both worlds!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, the road has not been easy as it’s a different world when you’re in business for yourself. There have been bumps along the way, but God has always provided throughout the journey. It takes both dedication and determination to overcome obstacles such as short staff, balancing business and personal life, and carrying out the day-to-day operations of a business owner. You learn to continuously push forward and not look back. In actuality, struggles don’t last long; they make you stronger. I’ve experienced many wins and successes along the way, too.
