Community Highlights: Meet Siddharth Tripathi of The Dollar Investigators

Today we’d like to introduce you to Siddharth Tripathi.

Hi Siddharth, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began The Dollar Investigators out of a startling fact only 57% of adults in the US were financially literate. To be completely transparent, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, or what I even could do, but I wanted to make some change. So, after working up the courage, I started by just calling one montessori in my area to teach. To my complete and utter shock, they actually agreed. I think this simple “yes” gave me the motivation and courage to continue to build this organization. And now after about one year, I have developed my own financial literacy curriculum being taught to over 200+ students in multiple locations in the DFW area.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, my path thus far has definitely not been a smooth road. My main issue was actually getting the ability to teach at these schools. The main contributor to this issue is the fact that many schools believed I was unqualified as a result of my age. But, the one thing that kept me going was my belief that with every “no” I got, my chances of getting a “yes” increased ever so slightly. So, while it has not been easy, I truly think that because I was so stubborn in my desire to achieve my goal, I ultimately began to see progress in achieving it.

We’ve been impressed with The Dollar Investigators, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Dollar Investigators is a free, youth-led organization completely dedicated to empowering children with the knowledge and the tools to make smart decisions with money from a young age. We specialize in delivering fun, age-appropriate lessons to children on basic financial literacy such as saving, spending, budgeting. Our ultimate goal is to equip these children with the toolbox of skills that they can continuously refine as they go into adulthood. But, what truly sets us apart is our peer-to-peer approach. Our lessons are created by children for children, making them that much more fun and impactful. We are most proud of the genuine change we have made and seen in young learners, from seeing kids set their first saving goals to watching them proudly getting a perfect score on our end-of-lesson mini quizzes. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or community leader, we invite you to join us in building a generation of financially confident children.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Absolutely! One thing I’ve learned through my experience growing The Dollar Investigators is that financial literacy isn’t just about managing money, it’s actually about confidence and independence. When a child understands how to budget, save, and grasp the value of a dollar, they start seeing the world differently. They begin to realize they have control over their future, even at an extremely young age. What I would love readers to take away is that teaching financial skills doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it starts with a conversation or a fun activity. And, if anyone wants to bring The Dollar Investigators to their school or community, we’re always looking to expand and we are completely free of charge, so just reach out at thedollarinvestigators@gmail.com!
