Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Brooks.
Hi Stacey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I won’t pretend I’m the best photographer in town. And I can’t even say I first picked up a camera because I had some burning need to express myself artistically. That’s not what drives me. I photograph because I genuinely love people. It really is that simple. I’m drawn to the energy of human connection, the joy of gathering, the way people light up when they feel seen. There’s so much beauty in those moments, just begging to be captured.
My journey started in the world of fashion and commercial photography. In the late ’90s and early 2000s, I had the privilege of assisting some of Las Vegas’s top talent. I wasn’t thinking about starting a business back then, I just loved being around people and helping them feel at ease in front of the lens.
Everything changed when I moved back to Texas in 2002, when I began working on my own, starting with weddings. I fell in love with the emotion of it all – the intimacy, the chaos, the rawness, the fast pace. Every event was different, every story unique, and the trust families placed in me felt deeply personal and meaningful.
After a few years, corporate clients started calling. At first, the appeal was practical: weekday work meant I could reclaim my weekends, but what surprised me was how quickly I became obsessed with this world. Celebrating employees, capturing dynamic team culture, witnessing the creativity and scale of major events – it checked every box for me. It felt like home.
I never set out to build a photography empre. I just knew I loved people and had a knack for capturing those real, honest moments that make you stop and look twice. Turns out, that ability to see people – that personal connection – is worth far more than any title of “the best.”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m proud to acknowledge my company has survived both the Great Recession and the COVID Pandemic- and each time we’ve emerged stronger! As a business owner, I make practical financial decisions that have helped sustain the business through leaner times, while adapting to changes in the industry that allow for growth during bountiful times!
I’ve been in business long enough to have started out shooting film, transitioning to DSLR, and again to Mirrorless all while maintaining systems and processes to make everything feel seamless to my customers.
We’ve been impressed with See Pink, Inc., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
See Pink Inc. is a Dallas-based photography company that focuses on large-scale corporate events – think conferences, conventions, awards dinners, trade shows, and leadership summits. We’ve been doing this work for over 20 years, and in that time, we’ve become known not just for the quality of our images, but for how seamlessly we fit into fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
What we really specialize in is photographing people – whether it’s polished headshots for hundreds of attendees, candid moments on stage, or capturing the energy of a packed ballroom – we know how to connect and help people feel comfortable in front of the camera.
One thing clients love is our instant-share delivery of images. Not only can we tag and share images with guests directly from our cameras, but we can also offer a live-feed of all captured images in real-time to the event planners. We use this same technology in our headshot stations – guests are delivered their fully retouched headshots typically within seconds of walking away from the station!
What makes us different? We’re calm under pressure, low-maintenance, and we just get how events work. We’re not the type of team that needs a lot of managing. We show up, plug in with the production crew, and get to work – quietly making sure your event looks amazing from every angle.
Brand-wise, we’re proud of the trust we’ve earned over the years. A lot of our clients have been with us for a long time, and they know we’re going to show up and deliver every single time. That kind of consistency is at the heart of what we do.
At the end of the day, See Pink is about helping people and brands show up well – and capturing that in a way that feels effortless and authentic.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
OUTSOURCING – My success absolutely stems from knowing what I’m good at, and bringing on others in order to outsource that which I’m NOT good at. You’re only as successful as the team you surround yourself with – so find smart people who are good at what they do and align with your company values, and pay them well.
COMMUNICATION – I also pride myself on being a good communicator. I try to answer questions before my clients even think to ask. I meet conflict head on and come to solutions that work for everyone. I value input and am always open to talking through what we do right as well as how we can improve.
ADAPTABILITY – Not only are we quick to adapt to changing plans on event-day, we’re also adaptable in our offerings so we’re always on the forefront of what our clients need. We love that this willingness to try new things has provided us an open line of communication with our clients. They know they can reach out with a crazy new idea and we’re always willing to execute!
OUR WHY – I also understand the that my company doesn’t sell pretty pictures. That might shock people to hear – but we don’t. We first and foremost sell ease, calm, reliability, and consistency. Event planners are under tons of pressure. Anything we can do to make the event run smoother, the team more efficient, and the results more fun, we’re all about it. Yes – we take pretty pictures but that’s not WHY our clients hire us. They hire us again and again because of how it FEELS to work with my company.
