Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Elwell.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I graduated from Le Cordón Bleu College of Culinary Arts Dallas in 2010 and started working in Pastry shortly after. With a short amount of experience, I quickly worked up the ladder and landed a Head Pastry Chef job in Vail, Colorado. After that job, I went on to have Executive Pastry Chef jobs in Michigan and Florida working for high-end resorts and high-end country clubs.
In 2020, I lost my job due to COVID. I then decided to move back to Texas to start a new life near family. During this time was when I realized I had an opportunity to work on my dream. I always dreamed of having my own business!
I loved working for big companies but unfortunately, kitchens nowadays are still very old-fashioned and women don’t have it easy at all. It can be a very toxic environment for us ladies.
Having my own company was exactly what I did. And in late 2020 Drips Sweets Boutique was created. I make custom cakes and desserts and have been thriving ever since. We are currently a home bakery located in Mckinney, Tx, and hope to have a shop located in the near future! I know we would be loved!!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, absolutely not, it has not been Smooth in any way whatsoever. It’s been a lot of pain, sweat, tears, and sacrifices. I’d say specifically referring to my small business. The financial struggle has been the hardest. Especially during these times.

Drips 🍰 Is a Home bakery located in McKinney, Texas. I am an experienced professional pastry chef working from home. I create cakes, decorated sugar cookies, and seasonal desserts. I am the owner as well, and I do everything from marketing to accounting to purchasing to baking to creating. Even delivery!
Drips🍰 specializes in drip cakes and modern trends from social media!!
I believe what sets me apart from others is my artistic ability, my creativity, and also the flavor of my cakes.
I am most proud of how far I have come so far. Even looking at my work now and comparing it to my work two years ago, I am truly impressed with myself and how much I have improved.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Be patient. Times will get hard but you got to hang on tight and just believe.
