Hi Stephanie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I’ve been a barber for 5 years; I could never hold a job til I decided to just drop everything & start my career in barbering. I’ve worked at a few barbershops & had my own suit til having a shop of my own ran across my mind, and I just couldn’t leave it as a thought in my head. I had to make it a reality & that’s what I did. I’m very grateful to be where I am now; I could never go back to my old life/lifestyle. I’m on to my second barbershop location, and I’m super grateful and humble for that. I just want to expand and build a great team and just win together. I want all the barbers to eat regardless if in my team or not. Just a little something not too into detail, but that’s my story
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes and no, I’ve had multiple barbers come in and out. Also, first location flooded, so that was an obstacle I had to overcome, which lead me to a bigger space and better visual.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a barbershop located in Irving, TX; we provide haircuts, beard trims/line-ups, facials, etc. we are known for giving out fresh haircuts and being a great shop with a friendly team ready to serve anyone in the area. I’m really proud of my brand logo and the name, and what it stands for. My barbershop name Marqblendz barbershop. I chose the name Marqblendz cause my last name is Marquez, and I want to keep my dad’s legacy going; he passed before he could see me do what I’m doing now, and just wish he could have been here, so I’m proud of my brand name and what it comes from
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
Instagram is really big right now; that’s where I usually see a lot of haircut videos and new techniques also YouTube is pretty convenient too
