Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Weatherby.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My son struggled with asthma and allergies when he was younger, and I felt very frustrated by the lack of empathy and inability of providers to listen to my concerns. After 5 years working in high-risk labor and delivery, I decided to become a Nurse Practitioner.
My family and I moved to McKinney in April 2019. My son was 3 at the time and was sick, but I had no idea where to take him or who to call because we didn’t have a pediatrician yet. I googled a concierge company that would come to your house and crossed my fingers. The Nurse Practitioner showed up on time, performed necessary testing, examined him, and sent medication to the pharmacy, all while I was in my pajamas and my 8-month-old was sleeping. I was SOLD. I sent the owner my resume and have been doing concierge medicine ever since.
In Feb 2023, I started my own company- Tribe Wellness and Concierge. We are an integrative company, so we are traditional plus functional medicine. I believe that local businesses have a responsibility to give back. We support our neighbors with compassionate, accessible health care and through generous giving. We invite our Tribe members to join us throughout the year as we do our part in caring for our community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Relatively speaking, it has been a smooth road because I have the best patients, and the concept of the concierge model is not new to me. However, learning how to grow the business, see patients full-time, and be a mom has been a learning process.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Life is hectic. Your health care doesn’t have to be.
-Quality over quantity: patients will consistently see the same provider
– Affordable: provide quality care at affordable pricing. Our pricing mimicks most cash pay pricing for PCP and is actually lower than most urgent care cash pay pricing
– Root cause: We treat acute illness; however, we are known for digging deep into chronic health issues and offering specialized testing and supplementation
– Efficient care: wait in the comfort of your home and have access to your provider to address your questions or concerns
– We offer IVs, telemedicine, house calls for sick or well visits, sports physicals. Starting April 1st, we will be offering physical therapy to McKinney and surrounding areas
– Our Instagram offers healthy swaps, education over popular healthcare topics, and a little humor along the way
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learned along this journey is to “always do the right thing.”
I firmly believe that if you are surrounded by quality providers who truly care about their patients, your business will succeed.
