Today we’d like to introduce you to Tami Dattile
Hi Tami, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After spending over 20 years in the construction and storm restoration industries, I reached a point in my life where I felt a deep unrest in my soul. I knew I needed a change. I believe the Holy Spirit was calling me to something more meaningful, something that aligned with my true passion. That’s when I realized I wanted to share my love for nontoxic living with others.
I founded Hope & Co. with a mission to offer nontoxic skincare solutions that are not only effective but also affordable. I wanted to create products that everyone could access, regardless of their income, because I believe that high-quality, nontoxic options should be available to all.
My journey hasn’t been easy. I survived childhood trauma, abusive relationships and an addict husband who tragically passed away when our daughter was just 4 years old. But through it all, and with guidance from our Lord, I’ve found strength and love. I am now happily joined with a man who wholeheartedly accepted both me and my daughter. He’s been my rock, supporting me in everything I do, encouraging me to follow my dreams, and inspiring me to be a good role model for our children.
With his support, I am more determined than ever to pursue my passion and offer others a chance to live healthier, safer lives through Hope & Co.. My story is one of resilience, faith, and the belief that we can all change our lives for the better.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t necessarily say I’ve had struggles but disappointment, definitely! Navigating the ebb and flow of business while not taking it personally is difficult. There was a period of time when orders were non-existent and I was concerned that maybe this wasn’t the path o was destined to be in. I remember lying in bed at 3am, full of fret and worry and I began to pray, “Lord, please tell me, is this what you want for me?” In my mind I very clearly heard “Just keep going!” So, I did keep going and I will keep going!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Hope & Co. is a nontoxic skin care brand that began with a dream to make tallow based moisturizers and skin healing creams at an affordable price. It has since grown and now offers a rose and turmeric facial bar, a botanical face toner and serum and I currently have a pimple spot treatment and deodorant coming soon! I use only local, grass fed and finished beef tallow and all natural, mostly organic ingredients packaged in aesthetically pleasing glass bottles or jars. I try my hardest to keep my prices low without cutting corners in quality. Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
For me, the true risk wasn’t just about money—it was the fear of letting myself and my family down if Hope & Co. failed. It went beyond a financial gamble; it was deeply personal. The weight of that potential failure often lingers in my mind, but ultimately, my drive to be an entrepreneurial role model for my children and my unwavering faith that God will provide, no matter the outcome, outweighs any risk.
