Today we’d like to introduce you to Teboni Washington.
Hi Teboni, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
So, every time I think about how I started and where I am now it is filled with so many emotions, there are some points where I laugh relentlessly, there are other points why I am just quiet, and points where my eyes are filled with tears, but to every feeling, I am forever grateful. Many people know in my hometown which is Pontiac Michigan that I am a product of a hairstylist my mother Effie Robinson, (My Anchor) mother of five beautiful children and I graciously was the last of the Mohicans (lol). I can remember as a little girl that my mother would take me to the shop and I absolutely hated it just being there and having to serve my elders and hear the conversations that went on. I really didn’t understand why I had to go to the shop being I had older siblings that could care for me while my mother was working but now as I reflect, I now realize that’s were my seed would be planted and my foundation created. I began doing hair at A very young age, I remember I would style my mother hair as she went to different events and traveled the world, she would come back and tell me how people would compliment her hair, and back then I was just twelve years old. I still battled not truly knowing if I wanted to become a hairstylist or not. it wasn’t until I discovered weave and I was able to see all of the different styles you could create and just the sculpting of the hair I was mesmerized, that is when I truly made the decision that hair was for me. I began to do hair and the more and more I got into it the more and more I fell in love. I decided that I would specialize in weaving because I felt it gave me the diversity that I was looking for and being able to create what I saw in my mind, I am a visual stylist. As I moved forward I end up going into my first salon and there I never look back I started to build my clientele and you couldn’t tell me anything I would amaze myself at the hairstyles that I would do falling in love over and over however I hit a roadblock I wasn’t licensed and I knew in order for me to excel I would have to have the right credentials it was time for me to make A decision did I truly wanted to make my mark and if I did I had to go back to school after having A child and now pregnant with my second I went to cosmetology school what was supposed to take a little over a year took me years however I am proud to say I DID IT! Life ups and downs curves and dips I went on to be A licensed stylist and in that my mind, thoughts began to think on a larger scale. I had visit Texas just to hang out and I felt like time stopped and it felt like home for me I could see myself raising my daughters here and growing my clientele. So, in 2016 I lost my brother and life changed for me oddly to say his death gave me life so I remembered Texas the feeling it gave and that year September 29th I got on the road and drove 18 hours and started my new journey from losing my brother I started my brand TRUSTTHEPROCESS. I started building my clientele by passing out flyers, social media however I told myself I will birth my vision here in Texas so I began to expand the service I reindeer and started offer services to women with hair loss which now has become my primary service. I have further my education by obtaining my certification of A cranial prosthesis specialist, which deals with woman that suffer from alopecia, hair loss, cancer survivor and much more I am still in love 18 years later and it is an honor to assist, educate, and servicewoman all over the DFW area to be able to offer products from my brand that aid with hair issues, to offer treatments in a private setting. My journey has been full of adventures but what’s A story without any history. I am Teboni Washington CEO of TrustTheProcess LLC.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The struggle has been real from being A single mother of two, moving to another state where you have limited support to not always having the funding to accomplish your goals or the things needed
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Trust the process Express Hair Care Studio?

Writing my vision and making it plain has truly been my go-to. This journey has always kept me before God I have always desired A mentor but realized God was just that, I look for the day when I meet the mentor in human form the is truly for me because I still desire one, as for now, I follow people that inspire me and that truly helps me
