Community Highlights: Meet Theresa Fennell of ItsbootyfulmeClothing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Theresa Fennell.

Theresa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my clothing line in 2016 from my home. At the time, I had about 9 products. Over the years, I reinvested & have over 2,000 products and a warehouse located in Irving. I am launching a storefront soon.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been far from smooth. Over the years, I’ve had struggles with my health & the growth of several tumors which have resulted in 2 major surgeries for me in 2020 & 2022. Throughout the years, I’ve still maintained my business and remained the face of my company. It was difficult, but I’m still here. That was the toughest part of it all because there were times I could barely walk or sit comfortably but still has a photoshoot or had to work fulfillment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
My clothing business caters to plus-size women in an effort to bring trendy clothing to women to make them feel beautiful in their bodies and embrace themselves no matter their size or shape. We are all so uniquely made & I want us all to have clothes that make us feel good. What generally sets me apart from others is just the “risqué” aspect I bring; most aren’t used to seeing plus-size women live so loudly through our clothing. I’m most proud of the messages I read from my customers telling me how they tried something they normally would not wear and how amazing they felt wearing it. I would want readers to know that my brand was built on love and inclusivity and that our mission is to make women feel great. We are 100% online now, but we just tested out our storefront location, and we will be open for the community to see us in person very soon!

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For those starting out in business, the first thing I would say is to let go of fear and start. Everything you want and desire is on the other side of fear, so don’t hold yourself back. Starting out, I wish I had built a team first to make it easier on myself. But if you don’t have a team, still go for it!
