Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Lynch.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey has brought me great joy in my life, and for the most part, I’ve had the privilege to serve for others which brings me great joy. It started right out of High School where I enlisted into the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed all over the country. It was a great time, teaching me valuable lessons along the way, but I knew there could be more to my journey and decided to pursue other interests after serving 8 1/2 years.
After my enlistment was up, I decided to use my benefits for college and enrolled into a Golf College, where I was able to follow my true passion. I’ve always played golf, but never though about making it a career until now. I wasn’t the best student in High School, mainly the reasoning behind enlisting and “growing up”, but I truly applied myself, and walked away with a 4.0 GPA, and valedictorian of my graduating class at the Golf Academy of America.
Since graduating, I’ve been able to learn from some of the best golf instructors in the business, which molded my style of coaching, and challenged me to continue learning the game for myself and students.
Five years ago, I decided it was time to start my own teaching academy, Travis Lynch Golf, in Frisco, TX. Since opening, we’ve introduced nearly 500 students annually, we teach beginners, and advanced golfers and our students have won competitive tournaments through the college ranks.
In 2021, I was recognized as a US Kids Golf Master Top 50 Kids Coach, was has been an honor to establish a relationship with an incredible organization whose main focus is to bring a positive atmosphere to the golf course for kids, and families looking to enjoy the game together for a lifetime.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My biggest struggles along the way were the time and effort it takes to be a great teacher. The hours to study, be able to speak, and communicate effectively to teach the details of the golf swing, but also not make it difficult to understand.
When I created my golf academy, I knew I could do and I had the technical skills to make it happen, but the fear of starting something from scratch, and the support needed behind that decision was difficult. In the end, I have a great team I built around me to make those time easier, but starting from the bottom and working your way up is challenging, but also rewarding when you climb the mountain and see the goals.

Travis Lynch Golf operates a full-service golf Instruction academy which introduces beginning golfers to the game and skillsets to the advance golfers who are looking to competitive and win in tournament golf.
Travis Lynch Golf offers an award-winning junior golf program. We have developed a fun, positive, and reward-based system to help engage junior golfers. We’ve created a game-based learning program and skill challenges to move through our progressive level system. 10 levels are offered, which increases in difficulty.
Our engagement in our program from our students, our reward system, and most importantly our dedicated coaches keep our students coming back.
I’m most proud that we are consistent in our delivery, message, and progression within our program. Our logo is recognizable within our industry and fits really well within our space.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding a mentor along my path has been truly a game-changer. To this day, I still reach out, finding information, learning from those who have gone though the process before me.
