Today we’d like to introduce you to Traycie Loving.
Hi Traycie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After serving 21 years in the military, I decided to pursue a career in interior design—a passion I rediscovered during my final assignment. I was entrusted with managing a $1 million renovation of a historic building, and through that project, I realized how much I enjoyed the design process and wanted to make it my next career path. My background in supply and logistics—where I ensured that units were properly equipped and prepared for their missions—provided me with strong organizational and project management skills that now serve me well in the design profession.
As I transitioned out of the military, I became increasingly aware of the growing need for specialized interior design services tailored to veterans facing physical and psychological challenges. Approximately 40% of military veterans live with an identified disability. As a veteran myself, I deeply understand the unique struggles wounded service members face in adjusting to civilian home life. It’s essential that their living environments minimize physical and psychological strain, and instead provide comfort, support, and foster positive emotional energy.
Many veterans seek spaces that not only accommodate their needs but also enhance their quality of life and foster a sense of value and worth. Whether I’m working with clients directly or sharing educational content on social media, I aim to raise awareness about how thoughtful design can make a meaningful difference. As an interior designer, my mission is to create environments that support well-being, meet individual needs, and promote a better quality of life for those who have served.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been an easy road, but every challenge has shaped the mission and heart behind Loving Design Interiors, LLC. Transitioning from military service to entrepreneurship, building a brand from the ground up, and balancing the demands of a home-based business have all tested my resilience. Additionally, as my services are highly personalized, expanding while maintaining the same level of quality and attention to detail can be difficult. Managing every aspect of the business—from marketing and sales to accounting and customer service—can be overwhelming and time-consuming, leaving little room to focus on creative growth and client experience. Yet, the impact we’re making—especially in the lives of wounded veterans—makes every obstacle worth it. The journey has been tough, but it’s also been deeply rewarding.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about our city is its rich cultural diversity and the wide variety of things to do. There’s always something new to experience—whether it’s exploring different cuisines, attending cultural festivals, or discovering unique neighborhoods. The blend of traditions, people, and activities makes the city vibrant and full of inspiration.
What I like least about our city is the heavy traffic and the limited access to green spaces. Navigating congested roads can be frustrating, and I often find myself wishing for more parks and natural areas to relax and recharge.
