Today we’d like to introduce you to Tylan Cornelius.
Hi Tylan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started Photography back in 2018. I got the passion from my aunt Teresa; she took my senior pictures when I was graduating High School. Getting the photos back I was amaze of how they came out. I knew I had to recreate them. So, I started snapping away one thing lead to another, and I ended up falling in love with photography. I relocated to Houston and came in contact with Jon Durst who own LockedIN Magazine gave me my start in Sports Photography, shooting events such as the XFL and the Houston Rodeo. Now I’ve opened my own studio in Houston now to just open one in Dallas and see how far photography takes me
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was very bumpy in 2019 I lost my passion for photography Due to the fact that I didn’t believe in my work I did a shoot for a work friend Susan her daughter wedding reception, and it came out horrible and when I moved to Houston I couldn’t find clients well so I gave up, but all that changed when I got to do another shoot and the photos came out great after studying how to use my camera and how to properly take photos from my aunt Teresa and lockediN Magazine giving me a chance
We’ve been impressed with OC Studios, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Who deserves the most credit is my Aunt Teresa she helped me with understanding my camera getting me in the studio to work on my craft, and always there encouraging me with every shoot I always send her proofs and ask for her feedback, and every time I see the photos she took it makes me want to push even harder to get to where she is in photography, and also I want to say my Son Jamerson The Great just waking up every day showing him that if you work hard enough to get where you want to be that big opportunities make big money is our motto
