Community Highlights: Meet Tyrone Deadmon II of Bad 2 Da Bone Protective Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyrone Deadmon II.

Hi Tyrone, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

After graduating high school, I attended college and pursued a career in music. I started on the music side of the industry. I was a Dj, producer, and audio engineer. I mean it was fun while it lasted, more so like a phase in life at the time, I guess. It wasn’t until I ended up taking care of an extended family member in their last days; when I discovered my true calling. Growing up I was always the protective one in my family. My older cousins always say I act like I’m the oldest but in reality, I’m the youngest of nine grandkids and one of the only two boys. With that being said after than relative passed, I went into a phase of really finding myself. I couldn’t quite figure out what it was I wanted to do or how I was going to do it. I started working for a few different local security companies. During those time I was usually overworked and underpaid; IF I was even paid. Eventually I just stopped complaining altogether, and started using that “on-the-job experience” to the best of my ability. All while furthering my education, credentials, and skillset; I later decided it was time for me to start my own company.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was and will never be completely smooth. I mean life is like driving down I-35 coming through downtown; there’s never a time period when it’s not being worked on, some parts smooth and others bumpy. I think the biggest struggle along the way was finding balance. I mean between being told no, but hearing you’re not qualified enough. It gets to a point to where sometimes I started hearing I was overqualified. So, I would have to say that finding balance have been the main struggle so far.

As you know, we’re big fans of Bad 2 Da Bone Protective Services LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My company is certified to do just about any and everything you can think of in the protection industry. Our primary focus is executive protection, we deal with a good amount of celebrities, athletes, as well as politicians. Personally, my primary skillset and focus is intelligence, can’t go too far into details, but “If You Know, then You Know”. I would say what sets me apart from others outside of staying in my own lane is the company slogan, “#WeBuiltDifferent”. I would say I’ve been known for being different since elementary days. I never liked being in the spotlight and going with the current trends. I don’t mind being in the background, and not being seen all the time. Truth be told life is better that way. When it comes to my brand, I’m more proud of the slogan #WeBuiltDifferent, vs the name. I mean the name says one thing, but when you get into that slogan and run it hand and hand with the slogan and logo. Man, I’m telling you, it all comes together like a mosaic. When I have meetings with my team, I tell them all the time “Never forget the slogan.” The goal is not to be in competition with anyone or to be out here trying to be like everyone else. We’re just striving to be the best we can, all while remaining professional, having fun, and of course; make a great amount of income without being overworked and underpaid. There’s been times where I’ve took the shorter end of the stick just for my employees to be more than comfortable than myself; just to make sure they weren’t in a position like I was once before. As far as services goes it’s such a long list, I wouldn’t know where to start. I offer a numerous amount of services like: executive protection, private investigations, process serving, and basic firearm training through the NRA as well as LTC through DPS of Texas. I mean there’s much more on the list though of things we offer, you’ll just have to reach out to find out more.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Honestly, I can see the private industry becoming more prominent and popular than it has ever been. You have to weigh in the fact that there’s not only a state shortage with police but a nationwide shortage as well. So, when you look at public sector it’s when it comes to protection it’s overextended. With everything that’s going on in today’s world, more and more people and needing protection. Whether it’s protection for their home, family, business, or even their self. Bottom line is people want to feel safe and some want that safety 24/7.
