Hi Veronica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
S & V Plant Love started out selling indoor houseplants. We hit the floor running when we sold our first fiddle tree. These beautiful designer trees were hardly available in the Fort Worth area. Our greenhouse had them in all sizes starting from baby fiddles into large 10 ft. fiddle trees. During covid we became very popular for our non-contact drop off plant delivery to your home. I did tons of pop ups at events and then began getting more into interior and exterior plant design.
Today I have Fred’s Texas Cafe 2 locations, Tropic Lady and Bearded Lady, Shaw’s Patio Bar and Grill and the Lazy Moose, Gustos Burger Bar, Sugarman’s inside Hotel Revel, Rosen House Inn.
I do design and layout, plant install and ongoing weekly plant maintenance.
I love what I do because plants give out so many positive things, cleaning the air arounds us and providing beauty indoor and outdoor as well.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has always been a challenge because the plant business has had no financial investors or partners come in. Everything is done by my husband and I as a team. We love working together and knowing that what we have done has come from everything we have to give to it. We run it from home and work on some aspect of it each and every day. All jobs and projects we have are completed by Sal and I. Hence the name S & V Plant Love!

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
It is nice to have so much access to social media. You can gain information online easily with so many post on plants and plant ideas. Finding events to attend that have a good networking system is vital. Drawing information from other plant people has taught me so much. Networking can be fun, it is never boring!
