Conversations with the Inspiring Anjali Patel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anjali Patel.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Anjali. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started this out as a hobby, to share what I like doing as a pastime. However, as time went on, it became so much more to me. It became a way for me to share the importance of Mental Health. I began to use my blog as a platform for Mental Health Awareness and the importance of making yourself a priority. A platform for me to be myself and share my love for life with others. As well as a way for me to open up about mental health struggles I’ve personally had in the past and/or currently. Life is short, it needs to be loved no matter the ups and downs. I want to share and help people realize life is a beautiful thing that needs to be enjoyed. I want them to love it as much as I do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
At first, it was hard for me to actually open up and share more of my personal life without worrying about others judging or criticizing me. Fortunately, after a while it became much easier. As time went on, I became a lot more confident in myself. This confidence truly helped. My thought process was just that “if it made me happy, then there’s nothing I should worry about.” No one else’s judgment matters, only your own. Your own thoughts are what should be prioritized. Everything in life has obstacles, but what we make of it matters the most. I always tell myself, “I’m thankful for my struggle because without it, I wouldn’t have stumbled across my strength.” That goes for anything from having a mental illness to having a loved one pass away, as well as all the other struggles that might come in between.

My advice for others who want to start their journey is to just do it! Life is short, and if it makes you happy, then don’t wait or stall. You should go after what makes you happy no matter what other people say or think.

What should we know about your business? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in being myself and expressing who I am. I like to promote self-awareness and self-worth through being myself and expressing who I truly am. What started out as a simple hobby and pastime has now evolved into a way for me to share confidence and pave a brighter way of life. What I love about what I do is that I can help others who might be going through what I went through and share the importance of mental health. I love that I can make someone realize what they’re worth and help them find the self-confidence that I found. What makes me proud of what I do is seeing comments and being able to connect with my followers. Putting a smile on their face definitely puts one on mine.

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
By far, my favorite books that help me with life and achieving the best that life has to offer are: The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. Both books make me realize that the struggles in life make it more meaningful; no matter where life takes us, there is always going to be a meaning behind it.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower deals with overcoming a mental illness, which really speaks to me. It addresses a lot of other themes about pop culture as well. For me, it helped me understand I wasn’t the only one facing life alone.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck explains that struggles in life all have a meaning behind them. Also that

accepting these struggles is a better approach for life.
