Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittiany Lee.
Brittiany, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I moved to Texas from Louisiana a week before my wedding in November 2018. After not finding the same career I previously had in Louisiana, I started considering being a blogger/influencer after two of my friends suggested it a few years ago because they knew that I loved fashion, beauty, and fitness. I set out a date for my birthday in March 2019 to launch my first blog as a start to my new career and as a birthday gift to myself. That is how “Full of Brit” became established. Since then, I have been a blogger/influencer for seven months and I have received a few brand collaborations that I am grateful for.
Has it been a smooth road?
My nose would grow longer than Pinocchio if I said that this road is been smooth. It hasn’t been easy, by far. This industry is time-consuming, you have to be consent to reach growth, it can be rough financially starting out (i.e. photo shoots, products, and standard maintenance), and you have to have patience. I didn’t have a blueprint of how social media influencing is supposed to go, so it was on me to do my own research, along with trial and error. You will find out that every influencer has their own way that things worked out for them, but the one thing they all have in common is consistency. One can be consistent and sometimes it still doesn’t seem like it’s enough, and you may even become discouraged, but don’t give up. When I find myself in a slump, God always does something to let me know that this is what I am supposed to be doing.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am a blogger/influencer that focuses on fashion, beauty, and fitness.
The thing that I am most proud of as a brand owner is that no matter how rough the road gets, I hang in there because I know it’ll get greater later. I can also say I am proud to have accomplished a business that has my name behind it. It’s an accomplishment of many more to come.
What sets me apart from others is my personality and versatility. Someone may judge me based on a photo and think that I am high class when in reality I am down to earth. I’m from the south where we southerners are known to be friendly and hospitable, with a little swag. I like to think that I’m also versatile because I can create my own style and put my twist on things. I don’t live in a box, but I know what works and doesn’t work for me.
Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
The most important advice I can give someone in this industry is to do your best, stay professional at all times because you never know who is watching, be patient, posses consistency, and believe that everything will happen when it’s supposed to. Nothing will come easy. You may get denied here and there, but one “no” can lead to a thousand “yeses”. I’ve also learned that if something seems too good to be true, research it. The internet will tell you almost everything.
