Conversations with the Inspiring ‘Chaela B.

Today we’d like to introduce you to ‘Chaela B.

‘Chaela, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been a lover of music my entire life. It started with having a karaoke machine in my room as a child, to growing up in church, performing in talent shows and joining choirs and small ensembles throughout my high school and college years.

I fell in love with singing and writing as an adolescent and I’ve studied many great performers over the years, as well.

However, “In the Moment” is my very first solo project. It dropped on my 25th birthday, August 24, 2018, and has been doing very well!

I’ve received a ton of positive feedback.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I wouldn’t say that it went smoothly, but I definitely had some solid support and a lot of musically inclined people coaching me through the process. It did get a little hectic closer to the drop date because I wanted everything to be perfect! So, going back and forth with the producer to make minor edits to the song and finalizing the graphics for the cover art made me realize that it really is work! You have to want it.

The best advice that I could give is to just START! Whatever it is that you want to do, research it, study up on it, practice ways to be better at it… set a goal and meet it, but you have to start first! Fear nothing and no one, compete with yourself only and be willing to learn from others who do what you do!

What should we know about ‘Chaela B.? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I think what sets me apart from others is I don’t put myself in a box. My music comes from my heart, my experiences and different seasons of my life. So, you never know what I might discuss or how it will be delivered, but I know it will resonate with someone.

Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
Be a sponge and soak up as much as you can in the career field of your choice. Be open to learning and taking criticism! Be ready to have setbacks and remember, nothing worth having comes easy! It’s WORK!
