Conversations with the Inspiring DeNesha Manning

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeNesha Manning.

Thanks for sharing your story with us DeNesha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a communicator at my core. Whether I’m communicating through speaking, writing, acting, or modeling; I enjoy conveying a message through what God has gifted me with. I believe it is imperative that we identify our gifts, maximize our potential, and serve our unique specialization to the world. My passion for understanding my purpose fueled my desire to witness people transfer from a life of existing to one where they become who they were created to be. Getting down to answering the question of, “Why am I here and what do I have to bring to the table” rattles the brain of every single person in the world. It is not gender, race, or religiously driven. It is purpose driven. There comes a point where we need vision and perspective. Thankfully, I’ve been gifted in a way to create a safe environment where people can unmask themselves, confess their desire to want more, and develop a plan of action in an effort to press them forward to their next destination. I’m a problem-solver, not a shepherd. I call myself a “Pusher” because sometimes, we need a gentle nudge in the right direction. I just happen to share my message as a speaker, writer, model, or actress.

Fashioned4Dominion started out as a way for me to communicate ways in which we can be who we were created to be. I provide the tools via fruitful conversations, listening, analyzing, and creating solution-driven techniques in order for customers to shed the facade of the past and to step into the reality of who they were originally created to be. Reinforcing the fact that we were designed to rule and not to settle is what I believe. In addition, it is my hope that whether I’m speaking to a large group, writing a book, or pursuing an acting role; people will walk away from my presence knowing they are free from limitations, positioned to succeed, and granted the authority to live abundantly.

As I continue to expand my reach, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m a co-author as a member of an upcoming anthology! The book is titled, “Soul Talk Volume 2” and it releases in October of this year. My chapter is called, “Training Day.” Training Day is where I discuss my own life experiences that were utilized to equip me spiritually for the next chapter of my life. I’m excited about having my first published book! There’s so much more in store, so stay tuned!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! I laugh when asked this question because the hardest part is being vulnerable and transparent. When we set out to help others, we have to communicate the good, the bad, and the ugly in order to heal what has been broken. It is the shedding of the layers that causes us to be effective, which is why most people would rather stay layered up to prevent others from seeing what’s really going on underneath. Speakers, writers, actors, artists, models; all share a common thread. That thread is vulnerability. I’m quite comfortable speaking in front of a group of people, however, when I was nudged to get in front of the camera; I felt my resistance rising up. I even tried blogging for a while. Once the grace left, I knew I was being thrusted to the forefront. I knew I couldn’t physically sit and talk with everyone, so creating videos helped me serve my gift to the world. Taking pictures and creating a message around them, aided in sharing my story and my experiences. Writing a book gave me an opportunity to speak to the hearts of those who enjoy curling up on the couch and reading a great book. Had I not identified my gifts, understood my purpose, and expanded to the next level of who I was created to be; I would’ve neglected the people I was sent to touch.

My advice for other women who are just starting their journey, is simple. Just start. I never imagined that I would be doing the things that I’m doing today. If I would’ve remained comfortable and safe, this opportunity of sharing my story would’ve never presented itself. Taking the steps by faith even when we don’t understand or don’t feel equipped are the most pivotal moments in our lives where God demonstrates His ability to take the lil bit we have and multiply it. Truthfully, everybody’s uncomfortable and fearful when they are pursuing their journey to greatness. Oddly enough, it’s even more frightening when we are our authentic selves. Think about it, when we try to be like others; it doesn’t matter if people reject us because we know deep down that what we showed was just a cheap replication. But when we present our true selves, we risk the onslaught of rejection, jealousy, hurtful words, etc. The beauty of just starting is that once you take the steps by faith, the need to appease others slowly drifts away. There comes a time where we mature and realize that everyone’s just as messed up as we are! Lol! Once understanding kicks in, so does courage. Unleashing the fear of just being yourself is the greatest thing a person can do when activating their faith. Embracing the truth that we are all Designer’s Originals will make us smile every day at the beautiful creation we see in the mirror.

For all the young women out there reading this, know that you are a gift. Uniquely created and designed with a purpose. There’s something you can do that no one else can do. You are valuable. Never be afraid to step out and just do you!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Fashioned4Dominion story. Tell us more about the business.
Fashioned4Dominion is a platform built to convey the message that we were designed to rule. Understanding on a daily basis that we are free from limitations, positioned to succeed, and granted the authority to live abundantly fires me up because I don’t want to live beneath my God-given calling and neither should the people that I come in contact with. What people expect and receive from me are Kingdom living principles that equips them to live their best lives. I can convey those messages in different communication styles, but it all boils down to me making it practical and not preachy, so that any listener or viewer can understand. I’m not limited to people who believe as I believe. I’ve received comments from men, women, and young adults from various backgrounds and religious affiliations that say, “I love what you’re doing. I don’t feel like I’m being preached at or talked down to. When I watch your videos or view your photos, I get it!” Hearing feedback like that makes my heart smile. That’s what I’m most proud of concerning my brand. I don’t need a title. It is my love for people that separates me from everyone else. I have to admit, I do love that my followers call me, “Queen!” I say that because I want them to define themselves as royalty as well. I love demonstrating kingdom principles as a way of service. There’s enough divas in the world. Being a loving, relatable King’s kid is the best service I can provide.

As I stated previously, I have a book coming out in October, so I’m gearing up for that. I’m also revamping my website and preparing to offer additional resources to better service my customers. As my platform is growing, so am I. I’m making the necessary adjustments in an effort to connect with more people via my up and coming online show, apparel, and social media offerings. Stay tuned!

For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
Yes! Women are demonstrating their ability to become entrepreneurs, authors, speakers, leaders in their field of expertise, and beyond. We are seeing an emergence of women leadership in the entertainment arena as well. From executive producers to directors, there are trailblazers creating opportunities and breaking the limitations off of the obstacles placed before them. From my own experiences, I’ve seen the challenges facing women in corporate environments. The challenges for individual development and growth are often hindered by traditional practices that need to be shattered. Thankfully, we’re not backing down nor are we retreating as victims. We’re changing our perspective and becoming what we would like to see. We’re realizing that change initially starts with the individual and if we want to see change happen, sometimes we have to be the change that we want to see. The rejection that we face can be a tactical method from our Heavenly Father to propel us to the level of our potential. When we are pushed aside and undervalued, we have a choice. Do we continue to allow others to demean us? Do we continue to accept minimal pay? Do we continue to come home and stress our families out with our stories of workplace bullying? Or do we take a stand and say, “Enough is enough?” Thankfully, most of us are screaming, “Enough is enough.” We’re exemplifying it not through marches and boisterous activities. We’re just simply and graciously maximizing our gifts, increasing our value, and ruling in our areas of influence as owners and not employees.
