Today we’d like to introduce you to Dulce Prado.
Dulce, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started after I graduated high school with my cosmetology license. At that time, I didn’t see myself pursuing the cosmetology career but then my love for makeup began back in my little dorm at UTA. I started practicing makeup looks on myself and just posting on Instagram it was just a hobby something fun. Little did I know, it would turn into a full-time job. I first started booking for prom, then Quinceanera’s, and now big bridal parties. Which I love so much!
While I was doing makeup on the weekends, I started working at Drybar hair salon, which has given me the opportunity to provide both makeup and hairstyles for my clients. In 2016, I started the hair color journey at a popular salon in Dallas. There, I learned so much about color while still doing makeup that led me to meet so many people who went from being clients to sweet friends.
Due to the amount of support and love that I’ve received throughout my makeup and hair journey, I have now turned a year of being on my own at a little suite located inside Salons of Dallas at Hi-Line.
Has it been a smooth road?
One of my favorite quotes from Oprah Winfrey is, “Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.” The road to my personal success has not been smooth. In fact, I continue to face daily struggles, but I know that with each obstacle I overcome, I become wiser and stronger. I believe that I speak for a majority of women entrepreneurs when I say that despite each obstacle we face, we wouldn’t trade our experiences because those experiences are the reason why we’ve made it this far. (Keep On Keepin’ On, ladies!)
My advice to anyone wanting to start their own journey is to just go for it! Whatever it is that you want to do it, do it. Take that risk because at the end of the day, it will all be worth it.

I am most proud of being able to grow in this industry as long other talented artists.
I am most proud of my hard word and dedication to provide these services for wonderful beautiful woman. Being trusted to be part of special memorable moments and creating major hair color transformations is what keeps me motivated.
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
The woman who has inspired me in my life is my mother.
She is such a hard worker and still is to this day. She motives me to work hard and reach my goals to have a great future. She is my rock who without her main support, I wouldn’t be where I am now. I’m working hard for both of my parents so I can one day be able to provide for them just like they have for my siblings and I.
