Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Jones.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Erin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I ran track and graduated from The University of Oklahoma with my HR masters in 2017. Upon graduating, I decided to move back to Dallas to pursue my career in a bigger city. I have always been obsessed with makeup, fashion, interior decor, DIY Projects that. I have also always been my friends go to for tips in any of those areas. Since I have owned social media I have always posted things that have interested me: favorite makeup reviews, DIY decor projects, furniture renovations, fashion ideas, etc. Because I have always been obsessed with helping other women! Each time I would receive amazing messages from followers telling me to turn this into a blog but with juggling school, being a student-athlete and being on a student budget, my ideas did not match up with my wallet, unfortunately, plus it was just something that I did for fun. Once I graduated, I decided to get it going! 2018, I got serious and created Everything Eryn! Since then, I have been fortunate enough to collab with a few amazing companies and share my love for glam with my amazing followers!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a self-proclaimed perfectionist, this has been not been an easy road for me. The hardest part, in my opinion, would be the beginning-creating a clear plan on what kind of content I would like to bring my audience and making that vision come to life. I knew it brought me joy to post about anything Glam but I didn’t know exactly where I was going with this. With me having so many interests I did not know exactly where to focus and that prolonged my content. I decided to just start posting everything that interested me and that’s how the name Everything Eryn was born. Advice to others would be to just START it doesn’t matter if you don’t have the best equipment, or if something is not perfect. Also, to be consistent and genuine! The best bloggers, in my opinion, are the ones that genuinely love what it is that they are doing.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am a blogger/influencer who has a genuine love for anything Glam, specifically in the areas of home decor, makeup and fashion. My content consists of things that I find interesting from DIY decor projects to favorite makeup products to on a budget room transformations. I am most proud of the fact that I have come out of my shell to create the brand that I have wanted to create for so long. There has been a lot of trial and error along the way but I have honestly loved every second of it. What sets me apart is my vision and creativity. I am a naturally deep thinker and that has helped me put together my own unique vision and brand that embodies my creativity. I am someone that can look at a closet and instantly put an outfit together, I am also someone who can walk in a room and instantly think of 100000 ways to make it look gorgeous. The biggest thing that sets me apart is that I am someone who genuinely has a love for helping other women.
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
Growing up my mother played a huge role in my love for makeup and decor. I remember watching my mother do her makeup and just fell in love with the craft. When she wasn’t home, I would play in her makeup so it’s safe to say I started my love for glam at a young age. She was also extremely innovative when it came to home decor. With my father playing professional baseball, my mother had the luxury of designing and furnishing a home from the ground up. With three kids, my mom still managed to have a house full of all white modern furniture with sleek zebra rugs. I like to think I inherited her amazing modern interior style. She would also do hundreds of DIY projects around the house and I would always ask if I could be her little helper. This created my love for decorating at such a young age.
