Conversations with the Inspiring Sadie Robin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sadie Robin.

Sadie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
While attending college to become an RN, I worked part time at a Med Spa. There, I learned many procedures and fell madly in love with the beauty industry. I quickly grew a passion to making people feel beautiful in their own skin and love themselves for who they are. I decided to quit nursing school and take the leap to become a cosmetologist. I continued to add services to become a one stop shop for my clients. I have completed many color and styling classes to become an expert in my craft. This year, I have opened my dream salons and now offer, permanent cosmetics, and paramedical tattooing, lash services, Microblading, and full service hair salon.

Has it been a smooth road?
Switching career paths from one that I had dreamed of since I was young was a difficult path to take. It’s a scary thing to take a leap and know there are risks you are taking and you may fall. I have overcome many obstacles to get where I am today including some moments where I wanted to give up. But, I kept going to follow my heart and my new dream to own my own salon one day. And I am currently living that dream and loving every second of what I do. It also helps to have amazing clients and an amazing support system! Surround yourself with encouraging, supportive people and you will not fail.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Vanity Craft Salon & Spa story. Tell us more about the business.
Vanity Craft specializes in many crafts but, we love a beautiful balayage, and color is our forte! However, we also specialize in precision cuts, curly hair, thick hair, lashes, hair extensions, make-up artistry and cosmetic and paramedical tattooing.

The biggest thing that puts Vanity Craft apart from the rest and the thing I am most passionate about is that we are 100% cruelty-free and many of our products are vegan and gluten-free. We strive to be eco conscious and donate our hair clippings we sweep up to the Clean Wave Project, an organization that packages hair, fur and lint to assist in cleaning our oceans of pollution.

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
My biggest inspiration is to learn from other artists in my craft such as Phillip Wolff and Jamie Sea. The world is full of amazing artists. I also really love Michael Sealy podcast for guided meditation to cut stress when I’ve had a long week.
