Today we’d like to introduce you to Addison Parish.
Hi Addison , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Life started just like it would for a normal child until I was three years old. I was diagnosed with Marfan’s Syndrome at that time. Shortly thereafter, I was having surgery on my eyes to correct an issue with my lenses. Since then, life has continued as a regular kid. I have been on a Competitive Cheer team, and more recently, I have found my passion for Volleyball, playing both for school and club teams over the past three years. Over the past two years, my height has increased tremendously, and currently 6’1″ at just 13 years old. I’ve always loved the camera and making people smile. My grandmother did a bit of modeling in her day, and it has just recently interested me. We were very close until her passing five years ago November 2025. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life can be hard for anyone, and for some, it’s even harder. I wouldn’t consider my life hard or easy. I have an amazing support system from my family, which has been invaluable in helping me through tough times. I have had my fair share of bullying that I have had to deal with, with peers at school, which is never easy, and most of the time can be discouraging. I just keep trying to stay true to myself and my beliefs and put God first in my life, and every day do my very best so that at the end of the day I can be proud of myself and inspire someone else that there is a better way. Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most proud of having God in my life to guide me in all that I do. What sets me apart from others is my willingness to accept change and versatility.
How do you think about luck?
I would say a little of both. It has made me who I am and given me the tools to be versatile in the situations that arise.
