Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrianne Gilbreath.
Hi Adrianne, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
On February 15th, 2015, my now husband proposed to me at Fort Worth’s Botanical Garden. I was elated, of course, and couldn’t wait to start planning our big day. Throughout the process, I just became so enthralled with it all. It really brought me so much joy to see my vision come to light, and then I hit a bump in the road with my venue. The contract I signed and what they were offering was not the same, and before I became a full-on bridezilla, I knew I needed reinforcement. I contacted a sister from my church who was an event planner. She took the reins from there, advocating on my behalf with the venue and worked out the issues with the contract and she took over for day-of coordination, which I really didn’t know I needed until I ended up at the hospital the morning of my wedding with a severe stomach bug. It was dreadful, but she made everything happen while I was pumped with an IV and nausea medication. My wedding day was beautiful, and I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it, and I knew from then I wanted to do this professionally. In 2017 Everyday Occasion was born!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As any entrepreneur would say, it’s never easy starting your own business. I’ve had some remarkable mentorship and friends and family who support my endeavors, but this isn’t my full-time career. Like many other business owners, I still work a 9-5 and am trying to grow my business to one day have the freedom that I desire. Also, add on wife, and mother of two to the list and my plate is rather full. There are days that I truly don’t think I can do anything else, but it somehow gets done. I have to rely on my husband for help and he is my biggest supporter along with lots of prayers.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Everyday Occasion Event Planning is a full-service event planning business, specializing in intimate events for up to 75 guests. Like many, during the pandemic, we had to shorten our guest lists to keep each other safe, and I think this made people realize that they don’t need over 200 people at their celebrations to have a good time. Really spending time with the ones who you really cherish and love makes for a more enjoyable experience where you actually get to engage with your loved ones.
Everyday Occasion wants each of its clients to feel like family. I am your favorite auntie, cousin, or sister throughout this process and even after. I try to keep in touch with my clients and check in on them after marriage, new additions to their families, and even during challenging times. I am forever grateful for these people who trust me to organize and manage their most precious celebrations.
Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We all know that it’s not about what you know, but who you know, so the best way to support Everyday Occasion is to spread the word. Referrals are how I gain most of my business, and people value their friends and family’s recommendations. Also, writing reviews about my services is very helpful as well.
