Today we’d like to introduce you to Aiyana Amos
Hi Aiyana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
So one day I was at work, working as a cashier, at Sprouts Farmer’s Market, and Ellie Leal, came to my line. Little did I know, I was being scouted out. She asked me, have I ever thought of being a model and actress, and I happily told her, yes, that’s actually what I’ve always wanted to do. It was a surreal and heartwarming moment.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So at the time, when I was scouted out, I was very overweight. I was almost 300 pounds, and I wasn’t confident with myself, and I have always struggled with my weight. But I knew if I wanted to be apart of this industry I would have to get healthy and in better shape. I did fail a couple of times, but one day I told myself enough is enough, it’s time to get to work. And that’s when I finally took my health journey seriously, so I most definitely had struggles.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Right now, I currently work in retail, but my long term goals are working as a full time actress and model. I have already booked a few extra roles in short films, etc, and I even made into Moevir Fashion Magazine. I have a very unique look on my style. I love to be different and stand out, and that’s what I love about myself.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
At first I myself, was afraid of taking risks, because for a while I was afraid of the unknown, but then I changed my mindset, and thought to myself, maybe I should take risks, and opportunities, because you never know if they could lead to something greater.
