Today we’d like to introduce you to Akeem Raji.
Hi Akeem, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started music when I was as young as 13 years old writing poems and compositions books full of rhymes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been smooth at all. A lot of struggles and roadblocks have been part of the process. Things like financial hardships, and lack of support from family which put me into place where I took a break from pursuing my passion.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do music I am a rapper/songwriter. I have made music in variety of different genres like Afrobeat, pop, Trap, traditional hip hop, and a little bit of RnB. I am most known for my hip hop and afrobeat records. My most proud moment to date is a feature I got from Fat Joe on my song entitled “Prodigy”. I would say the thing that sets me apart is my versatility across the board as I’m able do different type of songs.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My family and my happiness, and the reason why is because without either you will not have balance in your life.
