Conversations with Allie Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Williams.

Hi Allie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was never interested in tattoos as a whole when I was growing up. Mainly because I was not a fan of the thick lines, heavy shading, or large pieces. I associated fine line tattoos as something out of reach and a service that was reserved for celebrities since they always had the “barely there” tattoos you could maybe spot on the red carpet. I started doing some research to see if it was attainable and if I could finally achieve the look I had always adored. I found a local artist that gave me the cutest, dainty tattoos and I was hooked! I took a fine line tattooing course in DFW and hit the ground running. I could have never imagined the amount of support I would receive from the community.

I fell in love with the process of engaging with the clients and coming up with personalized designs that meant so much to them. I love going to work every day knowing that my client is equally excited to receive a service that I can provide.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business from scratch is never smooth or without any hiccups. Google and I became best friends as I learned the do’s and dont’s of running a business. At first, I lacked confidence that I could successfully run my business and even make a profit from it, but I was mistaken. With each client and friend I made I grew more confident in myself as a person, a boss, and a friend.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a fine line tattoo artist, I specialize in delicate line work, micro details, and curating the perfect tattoo for each client. I love to spend my time tattooing florals, big or small, and hands and fingers. Hand and finger tattoos require an extra level of precision and a careful eye to capture each detail. I believe my brand presence sets me apart in a saturated field. I invest a lot of time and energy into researching trends and making sure I will be seen on social media.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Patience has been my biggest lesson to learn. Success does not happen overnight or even over the course of a year. I am someone who appreciates instant gratification and I have had to rewire my brain to slow down. I get my business mindset from my dad and I am constantly thinking of my next big idea. No matter how good an idea may be, sometimes it just takes time for it to hit the ground running.
