Conversations with Amanda Bradford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Bradford.

Hi Amanda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have been working in restaurants since I was 15 years old, I learned every position in the front and back of house and went to culinary school to become a pastry chef, I eventually became an executive chef and now own and operate my own bakery.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I don’t think anything worth having ever comes easy so it came with challenges along the way, but every time I got knocked down, I just got right back up and kept going. There were times I wanted to quit but I just kept my goals in sight and always remembered my why to keep me motivated.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a chef and I specialize in pastry. I teach cooking and baking classes, create customs cakes and treats and do private chef and catering events. I love that I get to do something different that is perfect for whatever event my client is having.

I am still most proud of the fact I was on the pastry team that did the Dalai Llama’s 80th birthday cake in 2015 and I self-published a cookbook in 2020!

What makes you happy?
My 7-month-old daughter makes me so happy, the fact that I get to be home with her and also run my business brings me great joy every day.
