Conversations with Amaurie Tennyson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amaurie Tennyson

Hi Amaurie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was raised around music since I was a kid. Growing up around a family full of musical influence started my long love for the art and was the kickstart to my interest in the world of music. As I got older around, high school, is when I started experiencing with finding my sound and exploring my style of music. I recorded different songs, practiced different styles, and used inspiration from other artists that I truly enjoy. When I shared unreleased projects with others they would tell me to share it with the world but I wasn’t confident in my ability at the time to share it so I held off. It wasn’t until recently when I dropped my first single back in August of 2024 that I finally found my voice and confidence in my music. From then it has been nothing but good vibes and great support around me, which I am truly grateful for.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Things haven’t been the easiest with understanding the ins and outs of the business world of music such as marketing and promotion. But there is always joy in the process of creating the art. I have also been blessed to be around amazing people to help guide me and give me pointers to help push me toward the right direction. I’m still new to everything so things can get a bit challenging.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work under my artist name Autii and specialize primarily in vocals. I’m known for my distinctive style of singing and my unique sound. I am most proud of my ability to coincide with other artists and for the work that I have put in to get as far as I have gotten in the last few months. What sets me apart from others would definitely be my original sound and the way that I change the vibe of a track with my voice and ambiance.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I am a strong advocate for self love and growth so I love to read books that benefit in those areas. Books like “The Four Agreements” and “ Rich Dad, Poor Dad” are definitely some good reads along with others that can really brighten your perspective on life, finances and wellness. I’m also a Stephen King fan, his work definitely keeps me on my toes and entertained.
