Conversations with Andre Whatley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Whatley.

Hi Andre, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in the mist of Covid so 2019 when I got laid off from my full time job at that time. I was already doing meal prepping on the side to help with bills. Once I had no choice but to go full time with it thats when I started using Instagram as my platform to reach others all over dallas and DFW area. Reaching out to athletes and successful people seeing if they would want to try my meals. All throughout 2020 I started doing private in house services that grew to more private catering and weddings. I was starting to make a name for myself that year but in 2021 that’s when I started going on new stations and just offering a more healthier lifestyle when it comes to the food we ate.

In 2021 I started cooking for Osa Odighizuwa #97 from the dallas cowboys. At that point I was cooking for more athletes, basketball, MLB, collage players and also WNBA players.
My meal preps went from 50 a week to 200 a week. That took off for the next few years. I was able to get contracts with Gyms who needed meal prepping for they’re athletes who was preparing for the nfl draft. Those contracts was always for the first 3 months of the year. Averaging about 500-800 meals a week.

My meal prepping was scaling to the point where now in 2026 I have a full kitchen staff, a full time driver and a videographer.

From 2021-now I’ve build relationships with people that has open doors for me and my business. I’m currently working with Anthony Cockrill at SMU and providing nutritional meals for the women’s volleyball team. I also have 5 grab & go meal prepping fridges in Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Farmers Branch, Carrollton and Lancaster.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I didn’t have a smooth road at first I was nonstop potholes but it didn’t stop me from succeeding. One of the challenges I still kinda face with my business is minimizing my slow months, when slow months hit that’s when the creativity has to come out more and I’m still lacking in it some.. I’m also not tryna overwork myself as well. I believe tryna have less slow days can reduce stress so I’m always tryna master my craft so that all year round I’m being busy and growing

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a private chef and I’m also tryna run a meal prepping business. I’m a private chef to Osa #97 from the dallas cowboys. I’ve been his chef for 4 years now. I do production catering, weddings and any catering needs you can think of.

As a side gig I’m the head chef at Pur Noire in dallas Texas. I’ve been collaborating with them for 2 years now. Every Fridays, Sundays or events they have I’m providing my good eats.

Work with nutritions and also private gyms to provide meal preps to their athletes.

I specialize in healthy eating and pretty much anything else. I love cooking healthy meals though cause it changes lives .

I’m most proud of my Grab & Go refrigerators that I have in 5 locations. Those are something I’ve worked hard for and I’m hoping to grow even more. What stands me apart from others is that genuinely care about every single thing that goes in each meals, they aren’t food that I’m ordering from Sysco. I try to get everything organic and locally sourced. I’m not freezing my meals either. Always fresh.
