Hi Athena, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I began during Covid. I was laid off from my full-time job and needed to fill my time. I was already creating content, but I was looking to expand on my content. I applied for the Dallas Social Influencers (DSI). DSI connects influencers with local businesses. This was the best step in my life that I could have done in my Content Journey. Since 2020, I have grown so much and have appreciated Josh and Jen so much. They run the DSI.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not, but I have learned so much on my journey.
Learning how to format my Instagram page took some time. When brands businesses are looking for influencers, they look at your posts/reels/interactions.
It’s also taken me time to feel comfortable when attending events. It’s all about confidence and building it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Content Creator. Over my years as a Creator, I am beginning to find my niche. I am an Art Enthusiast; I’m a big adventurer for Self-care. I’m a Social Media Manager for an Art Gallery in the Dallas Art District. I also write 5MIN Hacks on the Uptime App.
I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished this year, such as becoming a Social Media Manager.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My boyfriend, son, and my 3 close friends have played a big role. They come to the events with me. They take pictures of me at the different events. Also, when I first began, taking a plus one always helped me breath a little easier and feel comfortable. Now, I have no problem going on my own if I need to. Having people who support you by just being there helps with confidence.
