Conversations with Aubriana Logsdon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubriana Logsdon

Hi Aubriana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a licensed nail tech, nail artist & certified in Gelx. Ive always had a hobby for nails, beauty & art since I was a young girl, in elementary people knew me as the girl who always did her nails. That hobby stuck with me till I graduated highschool. I moved from Modesto CA, with my boyfriend to Dallas Tx for his work opportunity towards the end of 2019. In the following months Covid took over and I rediscovered my hobby’s all over again. I did make up for a while until I realized I really wanted to learn nails. Being stuck at home was a great opportunity for me to learn & practice acrylic, gel art & nail extensions which is something I’ve never learned before. With TikTok, YouTube as well as trial & error I was completely self taught.
Fall of 2020 we went back to Modesto to visit family & during that time I carefully and cautiously took my very first clients! Many of my old friends and people I went to school with were excited to support and let me practice on them. For weeks of this I learned so much, and knew I needed to make this my career. As soon as I got back to Texas I looked into schools for manicuring & got my education in GrandPraire tx 2021. Knowing I was completely new here, during this transition period, I made a name for myself making silly, as well as educational nail content. My content has changed a lot since then but to this day majority of my clients find me through instagram & TikTok. This was extremely important for me and my growth since I wasn’t from here & couldn’t rely on friends & family for clientele.
Then January 2022 I passed my exams and got my official license. Immediately I locked into a salon suite knowing I had enough support & clients from my school year that would cover my rent just to get me started.
Content at this time also helped grow my clientele quick! 2 years later, I almost have a full clientele.
Over these few years I’ve learned a lot, perfected my craft and can confidently say I’m so worth it!
None of this would be possible with out the love and support of my partner!
Very grateful for this career that never feels like work and allows me the ability to create my own schedule. Meet new people, make friends and travel the world with my partner. It’s also an amazing creative outlet, wouldn’t have it any other way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some struggles I may have had along the way started when I began this journey during Covid. Practice was the only thing I could do, taking clients or having friends over that would let you practice on them was hard.
I’m also not from Texas, I’m from Modesto Ca, I came with just my partner, so the growth of my clientele was completely due to my social media.
Learning and navigating the new world of social media & social media marketing is still a challenge but a welcomed one.

None of these challenges were too difficult to over come! I would consider them more learning curves.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a licensed nail tech, nail artist and certified in Apres Gelx. I specialize in gelx & nail art. I’m known for Nails & coffee, I’m the coffee girl for sure, if I wasn’t a nail tech I’d be a barista or own a coffee shop.
I’m extremely proud of my quick growth, and my ability to learn things quickly and adapt to new trends. Also the ability I have to instantly click with my clients! I’m super chill so I try to make everyone comfortable/ feel like friends.
What might set me apart is that I try to do a lot, I’m a nail artist, I try to do social media & I have a complimentary coffee bar where I can live my barista dreams.
I make press ons, sell cuticle oils, and make art work. I help manage a family owned salon suite buisness back home in Modesto Ca, also travel a bunch with my partner for his Job! So I love making travel content/ TikTok and YouTube is so fun.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I learned a lot about social media & social media marketing! Also I learned a lot about cleanliness and implement a lot of those things I learned in my everyday life. I have rules & policies and try to stay carful and cautious when working or traveling.
