Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Allen.
Hi Austin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
10 years ago, I was diagnosed with C-PTSD and have been prescribed everything under the sun to get my mental health under control. After 5 years of this constant battle of homeostasis within myself, I was told that my kidneys were severely damaged from all of the medications I had been taking and that it was no longer an option. I started to become sick and became paralyzed from GBS. Knowing there had to be a better way and a more natural way, I started research cannabis. Since delta-9 was illegal, I had to find CBD and cannabinoids that would allow me to be myself and play with my son but more importantly, wouldn’t make my body fail. Fast forward to today, and I have social media on all platforms under the monicker @LifestyleEditDot, where I teach people like me about hemp-derived products that can do everything from help me walk again to being able to sleep peacefully at night.
I would love for you guys to join me on this journey to find peace and tranquility and grow as a community!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was definitely not a smooth road lol.
I’ve had my son since he was 4 months old, so I was a single dad living 4 hours away from family and no friends. There have been people that have called me a dealer for even having a channel and Instagram to help people.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In my day-to-day job, I’m constantly answering emails or dm from customers and business alike about questions regarding cannabis, mainly hemp which is my specialty. I do a lot of digital marketing for companies about products, I think help. I know mostly for helping out anyone I can when I can. In the hemp space, I always have to look over my shoulder for when laws change. Anytime I take a risk of shooting a video even with documents, I can be arrested depending on the officer. These are small risks if that means I get to help people every day find legal hemp medicine that they wouldn’t have had otherwise due to the current laws.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Find someone who is like-minded to you, someone who has the same goal in find, with the same visions as you. Don’t be afraid to reach out to like-minded people and businesses. The worst they can do is say no. I received 20 nos before I received a single yes to work together. That one yes that you might receive feels 10x better than a failure of 20, “no, thank you’s.“ When trying to network I always look for companies and people I can see myself working with; when messaging them, I let them know who I am and what I do with links, I let them know what I have to offer.
