Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Bethany Sharpe.
Hi Dr. Sharpe, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a child, I knew I loved science & wanted to help people. Originally, I thought I wanted to go to medical school, but I participated in a summer program in high school at a hospital and quickly realized that it was not for me. A teacher of mine mentioned that I should shadow a local dentist and I fell in love!
I attended Centenary College on a basketball scholarship. Playing sports helped develop my mental toughness which I use daily to maneuver the difficulties in life and in the dental profession.
I moved to Dallas once I graduated from Louisiana State University College of Dentistry. I have a passion for learning, perfecting my craft, and providing exceptional comprehensive care to patients.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Along my dental journey, there has been some bumps along the road. I am incredibly blessed to have a strong support system and amazing mentors that help encourage & give advice along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a general/ cosmetic dentist at Ovilla Family Dentistry. I am known for my relatable and genuine chairside manner. I pride myself in educating patients on the importance of their oral health. My philosophy is comprehensive dentistry- to achieve good health, a beautiful smile, and ensuring that the muscles of the face and the teeth are functioning properly together.
