Conversations with Bonnie Wilt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bonnie Wilt.

Hi Bonnie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

Where to even begin – I feel like our stories are ever-evolving, so I like to compare how I answer this one year over year!

My company, Bonz Voyage, was officially born in 2019 with the purpose of providing a community and services to individuals looking to reconnect with themselves. The ‘Bonz Voyage’ name was inspired by one of my many nicknames (Bonz) and the term ‘bon voyage’ which is an expression in the French language used to wish someone a ‘good journey’ more or less. Through my company and its services, I seek to empower people to have their “good journey” – aka to have a life that is lived to its fullest.

The mantra of Bonz Voyage is ‘shining light on the warrior within’ – honoring that while everyone is going through their own unique struggles and battles, we all have a unique light that this world needs. Through Bonz Voyage, I seek to bring out that light in people – knowing that it already exists within, it may just need some fuel to the flame!

I am a certified yoga and meditation instructor, a certified personal trainer, and am a certified Level II Reiki practitioner. While I offer 1:1 and group services in person and online, one of my greatest joys that has birthed through this business is organizing and hosting Wellness Retreats offered all over the world. Lastly, bringing some of that retreat magic back with me, my most recent offering is a spatial clearing service that helps clear the energy in an apartment, home, workspace, studio gym, etc. of any stagnation or negativity and makes room for more abundance in the space.

I thrive when I am creatively free, so new ideas and connections are always welcome and always flowing with Bonz Voyage!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a service-based business, the last year and a half have been difficult to gather for in-person events due to COVID-19. I still managed to safely host two retreats in 2020 and two in 2021 being mindful of traveling and everyone’s safety, and I am so grateful for these retreat experiences and everyone I have met along the way!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
While I am a corporate professional by ‘day’ working as a consultant for a major software company, I am a wellness enthusiast ’24/7′! I have taught yoga and led meditations for my company and other corporations in Dallas and beyond, so even in the corporate space, I am known as the ‘Wellness gal’.

I can’t count the number of times people have told me “I don’t know how you do it” when they refer to me working my corporate job, coaching at local fitness studios, owning and operating my business Bonz Voyage, dabbling in other artistic outlets like pouring soy-based candles :), etc… but what I always say to that sort of statement is that I am passionate about the things that I do and that if I want to try something, I try it. And if it works it works, and if it doesn’t then I don’t attach to it and I exit gracefully knowing I gave it my best effort.

I am extremely in tune with my body and myself as a whole. I am able to set boundaries and make time for myself, my relationships, my pets, and more. I am constantly checking in with myself to make sure that what I am giving my energy towards is aligned, feels right, and overall serves me and my highest good and this is something I am super proud of and want to share with other people through Bonz Voyage.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love love love that Dallas has so many different types of people and cultures represented. I am always meeting new people from different places, and I love it! I am a big proponent of interacting with and learning from all types of people, and I think that Dallas provides its residents with the opportunity to do just that.

What I don’t love…. the HEAT (I’m originally from KC – the Kansas side)! Also, I don’t love the lack of an ocean nearby and/or non-crowded nature spots in general- love the Katy Trail, White rock lake, Cedar Ridge, etc., but man they can be busy! I am so grateful to be able to find pockets of nature (& shade in the summer!), and am truly enjoying Dallas to its fullest.
