Conversations with Booda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Booda.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Im from a small town of Texarkana Texas right over by Arkansas and im so glad my mom and grandma moved us up to Dallas because it’s NOTHING for me down there but my family. I moved up here young but since moving up here and experiencing different things I found out young like ( 5th-6th grade) that I’m gonna be something and make something of my life so I got into musically and stuff and slowly but surely taught myself makeup! So from 7th grade to now being 21 I’ve been a self taught makeup artist. Although I’m makeup artist I’m NOT a regular makeup artist I’m the type to face paint and paint my entire upper body. But around senior year is when I picked up modeling and since then I’ve really leaned into including both into my image and to further my brand which is ME!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely NOT I’ve dealt with a lot of strange people along the way that TRIED to make me question myself in many different ways like how I look, how old I am Etc! But weight was always the first thing out of people’s mouth when it came to me but instead of hiding myself I embrace myself!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING literally!! Like I said I started as a makeup artist and have been doing that for 5 + years and after my senior year of highschool I switched over to modeling but I also do dancing in music videos for artist around Texas, I’m learning pole dancing to expand on my dancing, I do my own hair and I also customize wigs for other people. I love to learn so in the near future I’ll be learning a lot more!!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Dallas is already growing rapidly in the creative scene so I really think it’s gonna go far and we’re gonna see a surge of talent skyrocket from this city!
