Conversations with Breanna Alsouissi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Alsouissi.

Hi Breanna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been into some aspect of design, beginning with print and moving into branding and web design. I started off my business accidentally when I moved out of the corporate world and decided I would attempt freelancing while we were moving out of the city. From there, I had enough interest that I just decided to throw myself into it fully. I began doing more courses on coding, branding, strategy and anything I could get my hands on to learn and be able to offer more to my clients. And almost 7 years later, I’m loving it and have clients from all over the US and a couple of international ones too.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Hahahahaha, definitely not. Since I didn’t go into owning a business with a full plan I’ve learned a lot along the way. I had to figure out taxes (thank you helpful entrepreneur friends & a good CPA), a routine for marketing, structuring days when you work for yourself and don’t HAVE to keep to set hours, all those good learning curves. One of the biggest struggles was and still is, pivoting my marketing with the ever-changing landscape of social media and developing strategies. There’s a been a lot of trial & error in figuring out what works best for me (which is different than what’s best for my clients sometimes) and how to make sure I’m making time for that along with my client work.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a branding & web designer specializing in bright and bold brand strategy and websites for small to large businesses. For those who want a strategic approach to starting or growing their business and all the tools to feel confident in taking it over when we’re done working together. I’m known for brighter, bolder, and fun designs that help businesses stand out in the scroll and I work as a team with the business owner to make sure that the strategy we develop is translated not only through their visual identity but also through their socials, email marketing and website. I’m most proud of working with small businesses and helping them grow to the next level so that they’re increasing their sales, interest, conversions and more based on the strategies we develop and build together. And that so many come back to work together again & again. What sets me apart is all the color for sure, not only in my brand but also in a lot of businesses I work with. But on top of that, we work together from the kickoff call to the launch and post-launch elements. There’s no one else that my clients have to deal with so we develop a partnership that feels like I’m just an extension of their team.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
The State Fair of Texas. I can’t even name a specific year, just that I loved going every year and riding all the rides I could and I still love to go today when I can make it happen.
