Conversations with Brenda Rosales

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Rosales.

Hi Brenda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started my journey in the beauty industry in 2012; I transferred high schools just to attend the cosmetology program. Once graduated, I continued my education at Ogle Hair Skin and Nails in North Dallas. I graduated in 2015 from Ogle and immediately started working in a salon as an Apprentice. I did 2 apprenticeships before I did my final apprenticeship in the salon in which I worked for 6 years. I experienced and learn so much from there. After some life events that affected my family and I, I decided opening my own space would be the best. So, I took a leap and did just that. I now have my own suite; 1029 Beauty Engineer. A place of my own where I continue to learn and meet many people!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any road is smooth, but you have to continue to push and get closer to your goals. My biggest struggle was being scared. I was scared of failing, over time, I learned that sometimes you need that happen in order to learn and grow.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve been behind the chair for 7+ years. I’m an independent stylist in my suit. Specializing in Color and Hair Extensions.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I like that there are many things around to do. There are things to do by yourself and with your family. One thing I don’t like is the traffic lol.
