Hi Britainay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! Here’s how PicnicInTheCity got started. So, while going through the pandemic 2020, one day, I was bored browsing on the internet and stumbled across an indoor picnic setup that was just so beautiful and said to myself, “I can do that”. And it went from there. I then called my sister and told her my idea, and she encouraged me to go for it. I immediately started gathering ideas color schemes and went to work. But wait… I was so excited to start setting up, then realized I didn’t have my business name yet haha. I googled picnic names to see what others had, so I knew not to use any of them. Picnic In the City name came about just thinking to myself one day like everyone has all these unique names, and no one said anything about in the city; that lead me to PICNICINTHECITY!
Picnic in the City is a DFW-based business specializing in enhancing the outdoor gathering experience by bringing couples and groups together for all occasions such as but not limited to; Anniversary, Bridal Parties, Brunch, Birthdays, Date Night, Surprise Proposal, and more!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Of course NOT! Struggles along the way for me while working a full-time job were staying consistent with setups for photos, posting on social media sites, to see other event planners booking setups without getting booked discouraged me a little. But it also motivated me to keep going and not to give up, that my time will come, just keep going.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a fragrance vendor lead! I promote and sell women’s and men’s fragrances at Macy’s! I love what I do; I love to serve people! It’s something about seeing a smile on others’ faces that warms my heart. I’m known for my outstanding customer service engagements as well as going over and beyond to help all. I’m mostly proud of my achievements, accomplishments, and eager drive to always help in any way I can.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories were hanging with all my cousins over Grandmother’s house in which the house wasn’t big enough for us all, but we made it work. We argue, fussed, and fought, but our bond than was strong as well as today. We played games like hide n seek relay races and going to the park to play on merry-go-round and swings. So many fun memories
